About Westside Preparatory

School Highlights

We are a small, safe, college and career prep 7-8 charter school that puts students’ needs first. We provide ample opportunities for students to demonstrate mastery of core standards through project-based learning, cooperative learning, and collaboration.

Our charter school provides an alternative to the traditional junior high school experience. Each of our sites has a full-time counselor or social worker. This school is for students and parents who want higher academic standards, a smaller school environment, accountability for the students, and consistent communication with families.

Our curriculum is teacher-driven, student centered, and our teachers provide individualized attention to students. We have a block schedule. We have a variety of rigorous programs such as AH-HA Vocabulary, TCI History, and Project Lead the Way. We follow the California State Content Standards and focus on helping students to think critically, to collaborate with others, and to cultivate communication skills.
